Food Writing On Line

I love writing about food, especially its history and culture, and I am lucky enough to write for a fantastic site called ForknPlate. Food writing and recipes are as old as written language, and were originally a function of government — if the grain stores molded and the beer went bad, the government was sure to be overthrown. In my research wanderings, I’ve learned two things: almost everything we eat has an interesting story to tell, and many dishes we enjoy are much older than we think. Drop a soldier in the mustard aisle of Zabar’s and he’d be perfectly at home.
